CNC Machine Operator - 2nd Shift
Job Description
Are you a night owl looking for a new machining job? Doherty Staffing Solutions is partnering with a leading manufacturing company in Villard, MN. We are seeking candidates for a CNC Machine Operator role on 2nd shift (4:00pm-2:00am, Monday-Thursday). Compensation for this contract opportunity is based on skills and experience.

What you'll do as a CNC Machine Operator:
- Reads and interprets specific machining instructions from blueprints, part and machine drawings
- Sets up basic tooling on manual mills
- Sets up, operates and programs a broad range of production work involving some close tolerance, set ups that are exacting, are somewhat involved and have a low to moderate degree of difficulty
- Performs other secondary operations such as stamping part numbers and deburring during machine cycle times
- Inspects machine parts to ensure they meet proper size, shape, or tolerance specs using micrometers and other measuring tools and devices
- Performs routine maintenance
- Participates and contributes to the lean manufacturing journey
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Technical Degree in Machine Tool Technology or related field preferred; 2 years of relevant machining experience can be substituted for Technical Degree
- Must be knowledgeable and proficient at operating Manual Lathe; CNC experience/Programming helpful but not required
- Must be good at problem solving
- Must have good mechanical aptitude
- Ability to learn and understand job methods and instructions in a timely manner
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement processes preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds with or without reasonable accommodations
