We are seeking candidates for CNC Machine Operator roles on the 1st shift, from 3:30am-2:00pm, Monday through Thursday. Compensation for this temp-to-hire opportunity is $18.00-$19.50 per hour, depending on skills and experience. Interested? Read below for more information!
What a CNC Machine Operator will do:
What a CNC Machine Operator will do:
- Measure dimensions of finished workpieces to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments, templates, and fixtures
- Listen to machines during operation in order to detect sounds such as those made by dull cutting tools or excessive vibration and notify appropriate personnel
- Stop machines from removing finished workpieces, or changing tooling, setup, or workpiece placement, according to required machining sequences
- Lift workpieces to machines manually, or with hoists or cranes
- Insert control instructions into machine control units to start the operation
- Responsible for knowing and following all environmental, health, and safety rules, policies, and procedures for the work area
- Take responsibility for ensuring that personal work activity is conducted in such a way so as to not affect the safety of themselves or others
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in using CNC programming software (e.g., Mastercam, G-code, CAD/CAM software)
- Ability to read, understand, and follow written work instructions and procedures
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations
- Must be detail-oriented
- Ability to diagnose a problem and react accordingly
- Must be skilled in reading prints and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
