Job Description

- Purchase existing parts from both domestic and international suppliers based on demands in ERP system
- Request pricing from suppliers and update internal systems with up-to-date information
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and schedules to obtain the most optimal advantage for the company
- Check on materials and expedites or de-expedites following demand
- Negotiate schedule changes with suppliers as required to support demand changes
- Communicate schedule adjustments to reflect the availability of parts
- Plan purchases to utilize inventory best and minimize inventory investment considering physical space requirements, shelf-life, total landed value, etc.
- Evaluate new suppliers, primarily for alternative sources of existing product
- Perform supplier visits, primarily local, as requested and provide written summaries to management
- Record and maintain documentation from transactions for supplier evaluation and problem resolution
- Record order acknowledgments in purchase orders and attach records
- Track incoming orders as needed using the freight forwarder software tool
- Update supplier scorecards monthly and provide suppliers with scorecards quarterly
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, or similar field
- 2+ years of experience in domestic and international purchasing in an ERP/MRP environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for this role
- Dedicated to continual improvement in job performance, ERP utilization, and education
- Ability to perform mathematical functions to calculate discounts, interest, proportions, and percentages
- Exceed in working in a team-based role working cross-departmentally to achieve company-focused results
- Must be highly self-motivated, work with minimal supervision, and be able to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
