What you will do as a Break Press Operator:

What you will do as a Break Press Operator:
- Examine the completed workpiece for defects such as chipped edges
- Measure completed workpieces to verify conformance to specifications using micrometers, gauges, and calipers
- Start machines and monitor their operations
- Test and adjust machine speeds or actions, according to part specifications, using hand tools
- Load parts into the machine
- Read blueprints to determine specifications such as material, bending location, dimensions, and tolerances
- Turn controls to set table angles for specified operations
- Follow all safety policies and procedures
- Associate degree or equivalent 2-year college or technical school; or 6+ months of related experience and/or training
- Knowledge of Manufacturing software
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations
