Brake Press Operator - 2nd Shift

What you’ll do as a Brake Press Operator:
- Prepare and set up the press brake machine by loading the appropriate tooling, dies, and materials
- Position and align sheet metal or other materials on the press brake bed, ensuring proper placement for precise bending
- Operate the press brake machine to bend or form materials as per engineering drawings and specifications
- Regularly inspect bent components to verify dimensional accuracy and quality, using measuring instruments such as calipers and gauges.
- Perform routine maintenance on press brake tooling, ensuring they are in good condition and replacing them when necessary.
- Identify and resolve minor issues or deviations that may occur during the bending process, such as material inconsistencies or machine malfunctions
- Accurately record production data in Epicor, machine settings, and maintenance activities to maintain production records and assist in process improvement efforts
- Coordinate with other team members, including supervisors, engineers, and quality control personnel, to ensure smooth production flow and meet production targets
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in machine operation
- 2+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment or general knowledge of metalworking, bending and tooling
- Strong understanding of how manufacturing equipment works together in a line
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis with or without reasonable accommodations
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend plant directives written in English
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
