Job Description
Bring your manufacturing experience to this unique and growing company! Doherty Staffing Solutions is partnering with a leading manufacturer located in Sioux Falls, MN. We are seeking candidates for Brake Press Operator roles on the 1st shift. Hours for this position are from 6:00am-3:30pm, Monday through Thursday, with overtime on Fridays as needed. Compensation for these direct hire opportunities is $19.00-$22.00 per hour, depending on skills and experience. Interested? Read below for more information!

What you need to be a Brake Press Operator:
What a Brake Press Operator will do:
- Operate the press brake machine with assistance from the Senior Operator or Supervisor
- Run bend and forming operations using standard and custom punches
- Adjust ram and back gauge locations per process control instructions and blueprints
- Check height, depth, and thickness using micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, gauges, and other precision-measuring instruments
- Identify and produce parts for assembly operations
- Program the CNC to produce new parts meeting specifications
- Perform spot inspections of parts.  Perform all required routine and minor maintenance activities according to procedures
- Complete and maintain paperwork
- Set up light gauge metal
- Configure bend allowances for sheet metal (stainless, aluminum, and regular steel)
- Ensure the machine is calibrated and cleaned and the workspace is maintained to meet safety guidelines
What you need to be a Brake Press Operator:
- 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred
- Strong metal press forming and basic fabrication background are a plus
- Basic knowledge and understanding of fabrication, hydraulic press, and/or punch operations, including basic setup, is desired
- Competent at basic dimensional measuring and able to quickly learn the use of precision measurement tools
- Demonstrated competency in basic shop math
- Basic ability to read and understand blueprints and other shop drawing aids
- Ability to work with several types of metal forming constraints with guidance
- Ability to operate a forklift
