What you will do as a Brake Press Operator:
- Set up and operate computer-programmable/controlled brake press machines
- Plan and layout the bending sequence, referring to drawings, blueprints, or specifications
- Bend a variety of products or assemblies of small, light to average weight, following standard procedures
- Request assistance on large or heavy sheet metal blanks
- Set up up various types of metal for performing operations in forming
- Align, fit, and adjust parts to meet the operating requirements of the unit
- Troubleshoot and rework pieces that fail tests
- Assist Engineering personnel in the modification, parts substitution, and repair
- Perform minor maintenance procedures
- Coordinate orders on carts by ship date
- Knowledge of computer-programmable/controlled brake press machines
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
