What a Body Technician will do:
- Clean the cab using a wax/grease remover
- Inspect cab for defects and document in the build book
- Sand area to be body filled, clean with wax and grease remover, and tape off areas needing protection from excess filler
- Apply body filler to required areas with a plastic spreader
- Remove excess filler and shape body filler to a quality finish
- Maintain tools and work area
- Expected to use power tools such as a D/A sander, grinder, and air-file
- High School Diploma or GED
- Auto body experience preferred
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
- Knowledge of basic inspection tools, machining skills, or related fields
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
- Ability to use basic hand tools and tape measure
