Doherty Staffing Solutions is partnering with the world’s largest manufacturer of firefighting and technology resources located in Wyoming, MN. We are seeking candidates for Body Technician roles on the 1st shift. Hours for this position are from 6:00am-4:30pm, Monday through Thursday. With more than 150 years of manufacturing experience, this company is the global leader in firefighting technologies and resources. They are the world’s largest manufacturer of custom fire trucks worldwide with 14 factory locations. What the Body Technician will do:
- Clean the cab using a wax/grease remover
- Inspect the cab for defects and document them in the build book
- Sand area to be body filled, clean with wax and grease remover, and tape off areas needing protection from excess filler
- Apply body filler to required areas with a plastic spreader
- Remove excess filler and shape body filler to a quality finish
- Maintain tools and work area
- Use power tools such as a D/A sander, grinder, and air-file
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the organization and our members
- High school diploma/GED required
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Knowledge of basic inspection tools, machining skills, or related fields
- Able to read and work from blueprints/spec book
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
- Ability to use basic hand tools and tape measure#metrojobs
