What you’ll do as the Back-End Maintainer:
What you’ll do as the Back-End Maintainer:
- Perform set-up and maintenance and ensure efficient operation of the flangers, beaders, light testers, lacquer spray machines, IBOs, palletizers, and strappers
- Responsible for the maintenance and set up of all back-end conveying, which includes all single filers and can transfer apparatus.
- Inspect, monitor and document in the computer a variety of can specifications
- Perform visual checks of cans to ensure entire process is in compliance and take appropriate measures to correct the process when deficiencies are found
- Complete required paperwork and documentation such as process check sheets, log books, and maintenance check sheets
- Perform Equipment Set-up Evaluations (ESE) and make proper adjustments as required
- Assist in other areas as needed to maintain a smooth flow of cans through the plant
- Maintain cleanliness of all work areas and follow all safety procedures and work practices
- Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned
- High School Education/GED
- Advanced mechanical skills (including working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics)
- Ability to use precision measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, etc.)
- Knowledge and understanding of can and end manufacturing process, equipment, and quality specifications
- Ability to demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude on all can and end making equipment in the plant, depending on the primary area of responsibility assigned
- Knowledge of safety regulations which apply to work functions
- Basic knowledge of computer systems, gauges, tools and equipment
- Ability to safely operate production forklift
