What an Assembly Technician will do:

What an Assembly Technician will do:
- Read blueprints and assembly instructions
- Measure distances for placement of components within subassemblies
- Use hand tools to drill holes and perform other modifications
- Assemble walk-in sections for foaming including those that contain wood pieces, special locks and strikes, cut-outs, ramps, etc.
- Clean all excess foam from the foamed sections
- Determine appropriate information labels based on blueprints or assembly instructions (e.g., UL stickers, serial numbers, etc.) and place them on completed sections
- Clean foreign material from the rails and pallets
- Check for defects in component parts and report them to the supervisor
- Perform housekeeping around his/her work area
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous experience in heavy assembling manufacturing is beneficial
- Knowledge of basic math calculations including fractions
- Skilled in manipulating and interpreting a tape measure
- Ability to read and interpret floor plans, blueprints, and assembly instructions
- Ability to communicate with others in a professional and productive manner
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds semi-frequently with or without reasonable accommodations
