What you will do as a Procurement Specialist:
What you will do as a Procurement Specialist:
- Identify suppliers for parts and manufacturing products
- Negotiate terms with suppliers such as price, quality of goods, deadlines, expectations, etc.
- Liaise with suppliers and project managers regarding updates and details of products
- Create purchase orders and tally these with supply requests and orders
- Analyze invoices to ensure accuracy of products/materials delivered
- Monitor inventory to ensure the flow of products remains positive
- Maintain and develop detailed knowledge about parts/materials needed
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Accounting, Warehouse and Sales teams
- Effectively communicate with suppliers, customers, and team members
- Verify order timeliness with suppliers
- Use historical data to predict part-buying requirements
- Work with Sales and Warehouse teams to resolve part shortages
- Bachelor’s or Associates Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in procurement or purchasing of products and materials
- Knowledge of metal fabrication processes
- Extensive knowledge of the manufacturing industry
- Ability to effectively work in a team environment and with diverse customers to meet their project needs
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate and problem-solve effectively
